Dear Back-Pain Sufferer,
I could not believe what I read in the research of that incredible Iranian Doctor who spent 25 years of his life researching the effects of dehydration on our bodies. He had seen some extraordinary healings of peptic ulcers, using only water, while imprisoned in Iran. He decided to apply his medical mind to finding out why water proved so powerful.
Basically he came up with a groundbreaking paradigm shift for the medical establishment. He was so enthused about what he found that he set out to convince the most influential medical institutions in the USA and other countries.
He found out - the hard way - that current medical establishment apparently has decided to keep silent about his breakthroughs. First this surprised me, but later on I understood.
I myself started my research for less noble reasons; I was suffering from back pain in a bad way and wanted to get rid of it. And while doing my personal research I ran into the lifestory & research of this Iranian Doctor.
Let me tell you a bit more about myself, that is why I wrote this particular page! Not that I want all the attention for me, but YOU deserve to know more about me if you are ever going to decide to get my eBook. Call it my Mission Statement, Reason Why I built this website and why I wrote my eBook - just so YOU know.
My name is Fokko Houwing,
I believe that any man or woman on earth has the right to decide for themselves what to do regarding their health. And I believe that every man and woman has the right to decide for themselves how they want their bodies to be treated.
I also believe in the old proverb which says: "with all that you do, gain understanding".
I don't think it is wise to just follow anyone's advice on anything; I am in favor of people making sure they understand the pros and cons of what medical establishment tells them. At the end of the day, you are the one who will benefit or suffer.
BTW I don't give advice anyway, I make information available for you to take notice of. I do my utmost to make available information on certain subjects. This information has to have a proven track record.
The information provided in my eBook on Back Pain is based on my best knowledge of current research into Back Pain.
Don't blame me for the fact that quite often the best track records for activating the natural defense mechanisms in our bodies are found outside the so-called medical establishment, I only stumbled across it!
I have found - and keep on finding - great things in the wonderful world of alternative health. And yes, I don't understand either why some things are often ignored by the current medical establishment - unfortunately to the detriment of the regular man and woman in the streets.
On the other hand I think I understand some of the economical rationale behind it. Hey, did I forget to tell you that I am an economist according to rules of formal education (I am the proud owner of a Masters degree in Economics.)
BeatingBackPain.com is not a medical institution, just an initiative of mine. I am a regular guy who has read so much on succesful alternative ways of activating the bodies' natural defense mechanisms that I just could no longer be silent about it anymore.
That's why I started writing eBooks that can be read by ordinary people who want to get back to enjoying life the way it was meant to be! You can not blame me for having gone to university! Finally some good might come from that - just kidding!
I honestly greatly admire anyone who sees it as her or his calling to join the medical establishment to help others. I for myself have decided to try and help by bringing great information to the regular man or woman in the street.
I will spare no cost (if I can afford it) to make things easy to understand. I hire professional artists to make excellent drawings all to explain and make clear what often is not clear to us people in the street.
A short sidetrack: a couple of hundred years ago, you had to be able to read Latin and Greek to understand the Bible.
William Tyndale ended his life on the burning stakes because he set out to provide a way for the regular man or woman in the street to know more about the word of God than any of the so-called clergy of those times. He translated the Bible in contemporary English, the language of the man and woman in the street! He ended his life on the stake for that!
His last words on the stake were: 'May God open the eyes of the King of England'. That King was known as King james. And God did open those eyes. As a result we have the so-called Authorized King James translation of the Bible, which many think still is the best English translation of the Bible ever made.
Today if we listen to our doctors we also need to be able to understand Latin - the language currently in use by the medical establishement - to describe medical conditions. Latin is a great language if it is your mother tongue, but as far as I am concerned, tell me how my body works in Dutch - which is my mother tongue - or English, which I can also understand.
With FokkoHouwing.com I set out to write eBooks on subjects that have a hefty impact on peoples lives. My goal is to write and explain in such a way that the regular man or woman in the streets will soon know more about his or her body and the condition it is in than the current medical establishment.
On BeatingBackPain.com you find information on my first eBook, but more will be coming. Once you start finding, it is hard to stop. I never knew so many ailments were related to each other!
I sure hope the information in my eBooks will show you what goes on in your body and why you are in the condition you are in. If that also gives you insight how to get better, hey that is awesome! I love to hear back from you!
Of course: in case you have a medical condition, always consult your doctor. Nothing of the information in my eBooks is meant as medical advice. I only provide information for anyone who is interested in it.
Would you kill the goose with the golden eggs?
I told you about my university degree, didn't I, I have a masters degree in Economics and think I understand some of the economic rationale behind the current medical establishment. I understand that current economic thinking would not allow current pharmaceuticals to invest in so-called alternative methods of activating a person's autoimmune system. Simply because most of these succesful ways of doing so can not be patented.
The Iranian Doctor tells us for example to drink more water, and he goes on to prove it works for many chronic diseases.
Now tell me, what money can you make on water, compared to regular medicine? Suppose this guy was right - and I have read his research, boy is it convincing - but from an industrial point of view you would want this guy to shut up. Wouldn't you?

You ask me why? Well economically, it is not wise to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. Tell me honestly, what would you do if it were your goose?! Come on, be honest, you would have a hard time too!
Do you know how much money is being made within the whole healthcare industry?
Figures say that in the year 2010 in the USA alone 28% of the National Budget will have to be allocated to the HealthCare Industry. That is a lot of money!
Just for a moment think about the implications of the mind-staggering statement below from the Iranian Doctor, regarding his proposed basic paradigm shift of contemporary medicine:
"Up to 70% of our current chronic diseases would disappear if people only knew one thing about their bodies. "
What is even more mind boggling is that he backs it all up with hard scientific facts!
Just from an ecomomical point of view you would want this guy to never tell anybody this secret. It would not be good for the sickcare - oops, did I use the wrong word again - oh well, I mean the health care industry. Can anyone explain why we call it industry anyway?
Having worked many years as an independent management trainer/coach/consultant I learned to look for root causes.
The most succesful companies in the world don't just work on short term fixes, no way! Succesfull companies find out what causes a problem or condition and then deal with the root cause and they win.
Want a very succesful example?
Let me tell you about Toyota! In the year 2005 they posted a profit which is bigger than the combined profit of all the other car manufacturers in the world together. One of the things they do is always go to the root cause of problems.
Here is a bit of a blunt statement: 'Contemporary medical thinking is all geared towards treating symptoms.'
In the business world I would call this workarounds and fixes - if you are into software development, call it bugfixes. Best practice in the business worlds always goes on the lookout for root causes. I don't see much best practice in the medically established world if it comes to finding what is the root cause of diseases!'
Current medical thinking most often says about the root cause of most medical conditions: etiology unknown. Which means nothing else than: cause unknown.
Hey, if I ran into that in my consulting career I would start getting a bit worried, because isn't that where it all starts: with the root cause. Find the root cause, deal with it and you might find yourself in busniness being the most wanted company by your customers.
With BeatingBackPain.com I have applied my scientifically trained mind, in combination with my consulting career to looking for knowledge about the root cause of a number of conditions that interest me.
And as it often is: one thing leads to the other. I started on back pain, because I used to suffer from that. But NOT ANY more! Now I am working on books on cancer, arthritis, migraine, psoriasis ( a so-called incurable disease, and dis-ease it is for sure, but my wife is cured from it, just by a change of diet!)
So I hope this gives you some information about me and why I now find myself in the world of writing eBooks! I want them to be the best eBooks on Health! That is my challenge.
To your good health!
Fokko Houwing
Some More on Dehydration
I told you about the Iranian Doctor already. He spent 25 years of his life researching the effects of dehydration on the human body. This research helps explain why the intervertebral discs of most adults are so thin and dried out.
The first time I read his research documents I could not believe my eyes. I thought: "If this is true, how come I don't know this!"
I knew that water is essential for the human body. But I never knew exactly how this worked. I always thought I drank enough, until I studied his material.
Some Shocking Hydration Facts:
75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. It is probable that similar percentages apply to 90% of the world population.
- In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
- Even mild dehydration slows down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
- One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
- Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
- Research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
- A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
- Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%. It can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and reduce the risk of developing bladder cancer by 50%.
