How to protect your back from repetitive move related back pains?

First I would work on your lifting techniques and posture. Wrong lifting technique and posture will have consquences for your intervertebral discs and your muscles if not sooner than definitely later.

The progression of back pain related to lifting could look like this:

- wrong posture while liftting

- muscles start getting sore, cramped and stiff, preventing adequate moving

- development of triggerpoints - small sore spots that cause pain elsewhere in the body, TP's also cause affected muscles to lose full range of motion

- decline of disc health as well, because of lack of movement due to cramped and shortened muscles and the effect that has on your discs' metabolisme, your discs need movement AND relaxation (mostly while you sleep) to stay healthy

- when discs lose health, your back stiffens up even more, etc. etc.

Now what to do to counter this?

One thing you could do is decompress your spine, either by use of an inversion table, gravitation boots or by applying natural decompression techniques.

Another thing could be to actively work on your posture and lifting techniques, you can do that with an exercise regime that will relax and strengthen your back, stomach and leg muscles. In short, what you want here is to make sure that the muscles that exert power on your spine while lifting, are all in good shape, so they forces are divided evenly. ANd ofcourse you want to make sure that you use all of thoes muscles while preserving good posture.
