My 3 Worst Moves With Back Pain?

0 votes
Not a question, but something I figured out in my long struggle with back pains. I learned the hard way that picking stuff up, be it toddler or groceries, while bending down from the waist is a big NO. I also found that my back troubles increase if I am stupid enough to lift AND twist at the same time. I now lift first - bending my knees and keeping my back straight as much as possible, and only when I am standing up again I turn in the desired direction, maybe slower, but definitely less painful!

Last thing I learned is that sitting really kills my back. I now have a saddle chair and a higher desk which allows me to keep my spine straight and up. The saddle chair forces me to sit on my sitting bones rather than on my tailbone, which I used to do. I went from lousy sitting posture to great sitting posture in a matter of days. This thing just forces you to do it right!

Hope this helps any of you out there! BTW I do add some special exercises that I do a couple of times a week, just to compensate for the other mistakes or bad things I still do to my back, no saddle chair in my car yet and taking the horse is out of the question!
