I am suffering from a compressed sciatica nerve. Impinging sciatic pains going down my leg. Now using aspirin and ibuprofen, am looking for good methods to treat a pinched sciatica nerve, maybe some stretches to release the pinch? What about walking, or hot and cold therapy?

Hello Anonymous visitor suffering from a pinched sciatica nerve,

Nerve impingement of the sciatic nerve often happens through the piriformis muscle being overly tight and compressing your sciatica nerve.

But this is not always the best explanation of the symptoms you describe: sciatica pains going down your leg.

These very same symptoms could also be caused by triggerpoints that developed in your buttock or the back of your legs.

Triggerpoints are known to trigger pain in different parts of the body, hence the name trigger-points...

But also a bulging or herniated disc could cause the symptoms of sciatica pains shooting as far down as even your ankle.

I have written extensively about this elsewhere on this site so allow me to point you there:

Wishing you the very best in getting rid of all your sciatica pains!
